The German Academic Association for Security Studies is a network of about 40 student societies for Security Studies at German universities.
A number of our members have served in the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) as conscripts, NCOs or officers and continue serving as reservists. Therefore, we affirm the necessity of armed forces for the defence of Germany, its constitutional values of freedom and democracy and its active membership in alliances as well as Regional and International Organisations.
Membership in the German Academic Association for Security Studies is open to all students and academic staff interested in security policy and related fields.
We are organizing lectures, seminars and excursions dealing with security policy, foreign affairs and defence policy; moreover, we offer seminars on leadership and rhetoric.
In order to stimulate a broad discussion on security policy and related topics, we publish a book series on security policy, online policy papers on current topics and a widely-circulated online bibliography on the areas of operations of the German Armed Forces (?Einsatzländer-Monitor?).
